Nicholas Pease, Principal

Nicholas (Nick) Pease started out as a copywriter at the Minneapolis mail-order firm of Fingerhut, but won a graduate fellowship and went East to earn a Master’s and a doctorate in English.

He taught briefly full time, then went to Reader’s Digest as a copywriter, doing the mailing piece for RD’s best-selling trade book, DO IT YOURSELF. He joined the editorial staff and published GREAT PEOPLE OF THE BIBLE, the all-time runner-up.

To live in Manhattan, Pease joined CBS Television and wrote audience-research reports on hit series. When his department left New York, he formed the instructionaldesign firm of Linden Communications. LC developed K-12 textbooks and businesstraining courseware for nearly a decade.

Along the way, Nick continued teaching part-time, with adjunct appointments at Brooklyn College, NYU, and elsewhere. He currently teaches in graduate programs at the St. Paul-based University of St. Thomas and the University of Minnesota.

In 1987 he began seven years as head writer at the New York MetropolitanTransportation Authority, the nation’s largest transportation system. He returned toMinneapolis in the mid-90s, handling communications for two major provider healthsystems. In 2002 he founded ProsePerfect, culminating three decades of writing andediting experience.
